Can you imagine being the person in the room that brings focused calm to the group, family or marriage that is in turmoil?

I can. And I can teach you the principles and techniques to make it happen.

Take conflict resolution to the next level! In a few 2-hour sessions, I will coach an individual, two people, or a team to use the skills from the Interpersonal Conflict Resolution Seminar and/or other Team Training (Leadership/Followership) Seminars.

Conflict resolution coaching is
different from mediation!

A conflict mediator helps resolve your conflict(s) much like a raft guide helps you get you down a river. You can go down really big white water with a raft guide that you could never make it through by yourself. That is what a mediator does for your challenging conflicts.

A conflict coach helps resolve your conflicts much like a canoe instructor teaches you to get down the river. A whitewater canoeing instructor starts you in calm water and teaches you how to handle the canoe. Then the instructor moves you to more difficult water and coaches you as you develop more skill. Eventually, you will be able to do whitewater by yourself in a canoe.

Learning conflict resolution is a lot like learning to whitewater canoe. You must practice interpersonal conflict resolution in order to develop the skills. I can give you a two-hour seminar on how to canoe, and you are not going to be able to use those skills well until I give you feedback, correction and encouragement on the river. Similarly, you need the same type of coaching for conflict resolution.

By taking the conflict resolution seminar, and practicing on your own, you can eventually develop decent skills. And I'm excited for you to do that. However, to shorten the learning curve and to develop honed skills, you need conflict resolution coaching.

What does conflict coaching
practically look like?

I start by coaching you on the skills during easy conversations. As you are ready, we will move into more challenging conversations while continuing to hone skills. Eventually, I'll be coaching you through challenging disagreements until you are surprised to realize you no longer need a coach! By that time you should be resolving future disagreements before they become conflicts.

Before beginning the coaching process, I will meet with you to see if I need to mediate your current conflict(s) to relieve some of the pressure so we can move to coaching.
